What therapy with us looks like
- Goals you set together
In the first sessions, you and your clinician agree on what you want to change. Those goals guide the work.
- Skills you can use right away
Sessions are active and practical. You'll learn specific strategies and try them out between sessions.
- Progress you can see
We check in regularly on how things are going and adjust the plan if something isn't working.
- An approach that fits you
Your clinician draws on several well-researched approaches, chosen for your concerns, goals and preferences.
Our approaches
Your clinician will recommend an approach, and often combines elements of more than one.
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Identifies the patterns of thinking and behavior that keep anxiety or depression going, and practices more helpful ones.
- Behavioral Activation (BA)
Gradually rebuilds the routines and activities that bring energy, meaning and a sense of accomplishment. Especially helpful for depression.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Helps you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while taking steps toward what matters most to you.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Builds skills for managing intense emotions, getting through crises and improving relationships. We also offer comprehensive DBT.
- Trauma-focused therapy
For post-traumatic stress, we offer Cognitive Processing Therapy and DBT-Prolonged Exposure. Learn about trauma-focused therapy.
Who we see
Adults
Most of the people we work with are adults. Therapy is shaped around your goals, whether that's managing anxiety or low mood, handling intense emotions, navigating relationships and life changes, or finding your footing in young adulthood.
Adolescents
We also work with adolescents. A parent or caregiver joins the first session, and we agree with the family at the start on what is shared with parents.
Getting started
- Free phone consultation
A brief call to talk about your concerns and make sure we're a good fit. If we're not, we'll help you find someone who is.
- Assessment sessions
One to three sessions to understand your concerns and history. For adolescents, a parent or caregiver attends the first session.
- Treatment plan
We meet to discuss what we've learned and agree on your goals and approach.
- Regular sessions
Most people meet weekly at first. As things improve, sessions often become less frequent.

How often will we meet?
Most people meet weekly at the start of therapy. As things improve, sessions often become less frequent.
How long does therapy last?
It depends on your goals. Some people make the changes they're looking for in a few months; others continue longer. We review progress together along the way, so you always know where things stand.
Can I use my insurance?
We are an out-of-network practice. Payment is due at the time of service, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Fees and insurance
Are sessions in person or online?
Both. Sessions are available at our office in northeast Atlanta, or by secure video for clients located in Georgia.
What if it's not the right fit?
Tell us. We can adjust the approach, suggest a different clinician, or refer you to another provider.
